We are in Sutherland, about 60 miles (100 Kms) north of Inverness, the far north of the Scottish Highlands. You can access Inverness by plane, train, bus or car. From Inverness, you can reach St Callan's by helicopter, train, chauffeur or rental car. Follow the A9 north. Look for directions to Tain and Dornoch. When you see the clearly marked sign for Dornoch, ignore it and stay on the A9 going ever north until you cross the sea level causeway, The Mound, that crosses the River Fleet. At the end of the causeway, the road continues up a steep hill, slow down and turn left off the A9 to Lairg and Rogart on the A839.
Four miles along this road, you pass the signpost for Rogart, look for the Pittentrail Hotel on the right and the War Memorial on your left. Proceed very slowly across the bridge, turn right up the single track road. 1.5 miles up the road, you will find a large old stone house immediately adjacent to the small white church on the right - St Callan's.
