St Callan's old Manse was built in 1883 for the Minister of the adjacent Kirk (Church) which still serves the local community. It is unusual as it retains much of the land it was built on. The 60 acre grounds are beautifully located over stunning views and are a scenic drive from Inverness up the A9. Our region 'Sutherland' is relatively tourist free and extremely peaceful. We have several 'Areas Of Outstanding Beauty' providing various activities, fast and slow. Robert and Caroline Mills, have had links with the region for over 50 years. Their love and knowledge of the area is evident. Guests can plan holidays around their own interests and hobbies with their help.

Many local walks. Six golf courses within a 30minute drive. Fishing, available by arrangement, on river, loch or sea. Lessons available for the out of practise or the uninitiated. Equestrian activities along the east seashore. A good selection of walks, hikes, boating or cycling that your host and hostess have tried out over the years. Enthusiasts should be delighted with Wildlife, bird, seal and dolphin. Motoring buffs can drive into the hills and explore castles, ruins and historical sites. Local distilleries offer informative tours on the single malt process. Art lovers can visit the famous Caithness glass works or local artisans. NB The garden hammock, with lovely views, exists for those who prefer to just lie back. Evenings can be spent in front of the fire, or at several of the musical evenings, seasonal events supported by local people and a good opportunity to mix with the locals.
